ME TV has been showing this excellent, RARE show for a while now. They are showing the Paul Burke (who I loved in NAKED CITY) episodes now. Robert Lansing was also great! STAGECOACH WEST is another great, RARE series they show!

Happy 80th Birthday to Mr. Cub!

Ernie will be 80 years old Monday and he is celebrating in Chicago at Harry Carey's! One of the all-time greats!

c. 1972 RANKIN/BASS PRODUCTIONS/RICK GOLDSCHMIDT ARCHIVES

This is the RANKIN/BASS cel animation I love..designed by Paul Coker, Jr. and written about in my upcoming RANKIN/BASS FAQ book. I remember watching these after FAMILY CLASSICS with Frazier Thomas on WGN-TV and some of them I watched in classrooms at school!

THE STARVING ARTISTS TOXIC BOX

Dick Locher to end his 32 year run on DICK TRACY

On March 14th, the DICK TRACY comic strip will have a new team working on it. Dick Locher has decided to move on and do some other things BUT will continue doing editorial cartoons.

Dick and I talked about his McDonald's paintings. I have an alternate version of the painting above that he painted the boy on the left as a white boy. He said Ray Kroc wanted to get Norman Rockwell to do the paintings and somehow found his way to him.

Dick's TRACY work will be missed. My parents recall a dinner he attended with them for a police function some years back.

All book orders placed today and tomorrow for THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO ($55 shipped) come with this signed set of MISER BROS postcards (Signed by Paul Coker, Jr.) and a RARE RANKIN/BASS DVD of your choice!

Hopefully WB will pay Arthur Rankin what they owe him now from THUNDERCATS!

Some more of my GREENWAY collection

Westerns are big on ME TV right now and I have to say the writing is great in most of them! Here are a few illustrations by one of my favorites...Bob Bentovoja!

My copy of SHAZAM! THE GOLDEN AGE OF THE WORLD'S MIGHTIEST MORTAL by Chipp Kidd and Geoff Spear showed up today and it is a delight! Would love to do a RANKIN/BASS artifacts book with these guys! I wish they would have included the 1966 Serial re-release poster in the book, because I have always loved the design BUT what they did include is Amazing! SHAZAM!

I love the classic HANNA-BARBERA cartoons AND wish BOOMERANG would love them too! Why are things like BEN 10 and POKEMON on BOOMERANG now? It is all coming back to you?!*&% Also, why are DVD sets of the 1970's HB coming out before classics like THE ATOM ANT SHOW and THE SECRET SQUIRREL SHOW? Who is minding the store?

SHOUT FACTORY does it again!

Another great set from SHOUT FACTORY with 5 beautiful prints of Bob Hope films that didn't look so good in previous releases. THE LEMON DROP KID is one of my favs and it looks great! The song "Silver Bells" originated from this film. Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis' first color appearance/cameo is in ROAD TO BALI and my friend Billy Gray (along with RANKIN/BASS Alumni James Cagney) is in the color VISTAVISION feature THE SEVEN LITTLE FOYS. Good stuff!

RANKIN/BASS audio gold!

I am sure RANKIN/BASS musical composer MAURY LAWS was happy with the Packers win today :) He is a season ticket holder. This soundtrack is one of his finer moments and features some RARE demos for unproduced RANKIN/BASS projects with Jerry Lewis!
